The role
At Damen Naval, we are seeking a dynamic Technical Specialist in Electrical Systems to lead the development, advice, and engineering initiatives related to specialized subjects within our projects. As a key member of our team, you will leverage your profound knowledge and experience in Electrical Systems to contribute to the advancement and promotion of these critical areas. Working alongside a select group of specialists, you will play an essential role in research projects, proposals, and engineering endeavours, ensuring the verification of performances during key project phases.

Key accountabilities
As Technical Specialist Electrical Systems, your key responsibilities will include:
- Serve as technical specialist, providing invaluable insights and solutions for complex projects across research, proposals, and engineering.
- Support design reviews and validation tests, ensuring adherence to project requirements and specifications.
- Actively contribute to the development and promotion of your area of expertise, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Deliver high-quality engineering work within agreed schedules, maintaining strict compliance with all relevant standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department, enhancing tools, processes, and knowledge transfer.
Skills & experience
To excel as Technical Specialist Electrical Systems, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field, accompanied by a minimum of five years of practical experience.
- Proficiency in power generation, conversion, energy storage, and electrical distribution systems within complex project environments, particularly in naval vessels or offshore installations.
- Familiarity with maritime system dynamics and control systems is advantageous.
- Experience in academic research and collaboration with research institutes, universities, and industry stakeholders is preferred.
- Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
- Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
