Informatie

Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? At VDL ETG Technology & Development, you'll work on cutting-edge projects for leading customers in various sectors, such as semiconductor, analytical and medical. We are proud of the passion, professionalism, and results-oriented attitude of our team so that they can offer our customers the best solutions. They are the driving force behind our success. Join us and be part of a worldwide team that shapes the future of technology.

As a system architect dynamics you are responsible for the setup and creation of a technical specification leading to a consistent system design that meets the performance and functional requirements of our customer. You will lead a team providing an optimal dynamic behavior based on the set specifications. You do this in close cooperation with colleagues from other disciplines based on in depth understanding of the analysis and design. You will provide hands on support, take responsibility and judge and report on the detailed calculations, simulations and design decisions during the development process. Furthermore you are responsible for:

  • Defining requirements (modules/systems): Defining dynamic requirements for modules/systems based on performance specifications.
  • Defining requirements (analysis): Defining requirements for analyses (analytical or experimental) to be performed to make dynamic performance prediction/validation.
  • Performing analysis: Performing necessary calculations/tests and interpreting implications of results adequately for dynamic performance prediction/validation.
  • Driving design improvements: Clearly communicating evidence-backed results in simplified manner to stakeholders from other technical and non-technical domains. Steering design changes with a practical mindset to meet/improve dynamic performance of systems.
  • Knowledge development: Proactively contributing to organization’s dynamics competence development program.
  • Education: University master’s degree with a mechanical/mechatronics background & a minimum of 3-7 years experience on vibration sensitive systems or PhD with aforementioned specialization/experience with some years of experience.
  • Knowledge: Ideal candidate must have good understanding of machine dynamics. Experience in topics such as dynamic substructuring, multibody dynamics, vibration isolation, passive/active damping, modal analysis & vibrometry is a plus.
  • Experience (topics): Experience with analysis and testing to understand dynamics of vibration sensitive machines required. Aforementioned experience on high-precision machines preferred.
  • Experience (tools): Demonstrated history of experience with FEM (ANSYS, COMSOL, Nastran, etc), CAD (NX, Solidworks, etc.) and computational (MATLAB, Python, Simulink, etc.) tools required.
  • Experience (roles/responsibilities): Experience in independently managing complex analysis while working independently or in a team.
  • Experience (personal qualities): Ideal candidate must have demonstrated history of being a quick learner and practicing analytical, critical and practical thinking.
  • A challenging job, a high degree of responsibility and plenty of opportunities for personal development. Great promises that we like to keep. In addition, you'll receive:
  • A competitive salary.
  • A good pension scheme.
  • 27 days of paid holiday and 13 ADV (working time reduction scheme) days.
  • Profit sharing.
  • Plenty of personal development through training courses and educational programmes.
  • An annual VDL party with all your VDL Groep colleagues.
  • Opportunities for internal promotion.
  • Participation in various collective schemes.
  • Employee discounts.
  • Participation in sporting activities.
