We are looking for a software Engineer to join the Nike team. You will join a team of fellow engineers that nurture an engineering culture with its roots in diversity, inclusion and equality. The products are foundational to Nike's business.

We are looking for someone who combines craftsmanship with engineering pride. It is a role for 40 hours a week till the end of May 2025. You will work from the European Headquarters in Hilversum.

who are you

For the role of software engineer it is important that you have experience on one or more of the current top Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Visualization platforms. Think about solutions Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, IBM Cognos Analytics and Planning Analytics.

We are looking for someone with a can do mentality. Furthermore, you have strong communication skills.

You are willing to broaden that knowledge, by:

  • Maintaining, troubleshooting all aspects of the services, network, and processes pertaining to these platforms;
  • Collaborating with AWS Infrastructure team on Windows and Operating systems and platform patching, upgrades, troubleshooting and maintainance;
  • Extracting and analyzing the data from platform system database, plus the logs to developing data pipelines and dashboards with different logic to make sure the platforms are working as expected;
  • Automating process around maintenance, observability, plus onboarding & offboarding of Nike's end users to these platforms;
  • Upgrading the platform to the latest features and see if these fit the Nike's end users plus keeping aspects of security and platforme performance in sight;
  • Able to support the ops team in day-to-day activities;
  • Assist Nike's end users with migration and converting their current reports, dashboards content from one platform to another;
  • Enabling users through workshops, KT sessions and joining Community of Practice to improve Nike end user knowledge and share best practices.

You will be working on technical solutions that serve other engineering, data, or business facing teams. These solutions abstract and simplify foundational capabilities like streaming, computing, storing and visualizing data as well as business automation.

Nike works in an agile environment where you balance the team’s commitments for new features against solving bugs and supporting users.

Nike builds their products to run reliable and at scale. This means you will be asked to code your infrastructure and automatically build, test and deploy your creations. You will be asked to provide support by writing documentation and tutorials as well as providing guidance to users with a variety of technical skills.

where will you work

You will be directly working with a team of dedicated engineers that work on the same solutions. A solution architect will support the team with architectural plans and guidance. You share your experiences during implementation and help to improve on the longer-term technical direction.

You will communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities. You bring their experiences back to the Technical Product Manager and together Nike optimizes the different product features to serve their users better.
The agile coach supports the team in the delivery process, providing guidance in maintaining a balance between feature development and support.
You will be reporting into engineering leadership.
