Informatie

At Catawiki, every day brings the extraordinary! Whether it’s , a , or , we encounter exceptional objects every day.

We're a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects! Each week we offer over 75,000 unique items in auction, carefully curated by our passionate in-house experts.

Having sold over 20 million unique objects to date, we’re on a mission to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects. As a growing, diverse and sustainable scale-up, we proudly live by our core values:

  • Taking ownership and driving impact
  • Being open to change and feedback
  • Being passionate about our mission and our customers.

If these values resonate with you, we’d love to explore how you can join us on this exciting journey!

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and talented Senior UX Researcher to join our UX team. This is a pivotal role that combines hands-on research expertise with leadership in maturing our research practice. You will take a mixed-methods approach, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative insights, to deeply understand the needs, behaviours, and motivations of our users. Additionally, you will champion customer-centricity, democratize research through tools and best practices, and own the systematic measurement of customer satisfaction across the user journey.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead Research Initiatives: Set the research strategy and research roadmap for Catawiki. Design and execute research activities that drive a deep understanding of our customer base and influence the most important product decisions.
  • Empower Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and developers, to democratize research. Provide teams with the tools, methods, and best practices needed to conduct their own research.
  • Mixed-Methods Approach: Design and conduct foundational, formative, and evaluative research by combining qualitative methods (e.g., moderated/unmoderated usability testing, focus groups, interviews, card sorting) with quantitative techniques (e.g., surveys, A/B testing, behavioral analytics, and statistical analysis) to create a holistic view of user behavior. Use tools like Maze, AB Smartly, Mixpanel, and Hotjar to gather insights.
  • Advocate for Users: Act as a vocal advocate for customer-centricity, ensuring the user perspective informs decision-making at every level. Influence stakeholders by delivering impactful and actionable research findings.
  • Measure and Improve Customer Satisfaction: Own and systematically measure customer satisfaction across the user journey. Define success metrics and partner with data experts to track and analyze these metrics to inform the roadmap.
  • Communicate Insights: Present findings in compelling and innovative ways, tailoring communication to resonate with diverse stakeholders. Create user models, personas, and other tools to ensure insights stick with teams.
  • Foster Research Maturity: Develop and implement a UX research roadmap that aligns with organizational goals. Mentor team members and champion a culture of curiosity and continuous learning.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven Track Record: 4+ years of experience in UX research with a demonstrable history of improving products and services through research.
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Balance: Ability to combine qualitative and quantitative insights to paint a comprehensive picture of user behaviors.
  • Customer Advocacy: Passion for customer-centricity and a proven ability to champion the user perspective within an organization.
  • Collaboration: Experience working closely with cross-functional teams in agile environments, including designers, product managers, engineers, and data experts.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional storytelling and communication skills to effectively “sell” research insights and influence decision-making.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and solving challenges. Comfortable working with tight deadlines.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
