Bluewater is a leading provider of innovative Single Point Mooring systems (SPM) and operator of Floating Production Storage and Offloading units (FPSO). For the Engineering department in Hoofddorp we are looking for a Senior Naval Architect to strengthen the Naval & Marine section.
Bluewater provides a challenging environment; state of the art analysis and innovative designs, interfaces with other disciplines and implement the requirements from class and clients. Within these constraints a cost efficient and safe solution needs to be found. Engineering support is required during all phases of the FPSO design; concept design, basic and detailed design and yard support, resulting in a versatile work environment.

As a Senior Naval Architect, you are responsible for delivery of the naval engineering work scope of a project within time & budget. You may work as part of a team or lead a team of Naval Architects and Designers. You will be responsible for the design and the hydrostatic, hydrodynamic and structural analyses on FPSOs. You report to the Project Engineer on progress, setbacks and concerns and signal technical risks and anomalies in projects to your Section Head. You reply to queries from Site, Client, Certifying Authority and Subcontractors on time. If necessary, you perform activities abroad or on Site (shipyard).
RequirementsAn engineer with leadership and social skills, has ownership, is organised and enjoys solving problems.
Furthermore:
- You have a Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in Naval Architecture or Offshore Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience, preferably in the offshore industry.
- Experience with organising scope and leading a team.
- You have experience with hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, finite element and fatigue analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant international design codes and Class regulations.
- Good understanding of the English language, verbally as well as in writing.
