Independent Hospitality has been exclusively appointed to recruit the restaurant team, and we are currently looking for a Pastry Chef to join this exciting venture.
In March 2025, De Plesman will open its doors in Scheveningen, The Hague. This brand-new hotel and restaurant concept is located in an iconic building where dunes, forest, city, and beach come together. With 100 hotel rooms, a Lobby/bar, Restaurant Suus, and a deli, this destination is set to become a culinary and hospitality hotspot.
Independent Hospitality has been exclusively appointed to recruit the restaurant team, and we are currently looking for a Pastry Chef to join this exciting venture.
As our Pastry Chef, you will bring passion, creativity, and a love for all things sweet to our kitchen. You'll be responsible for designing and preparing exquisite pastries, desserts, and baked goods that reflect the bold spirit of De Plesman. If you're ready to bring your talent and passion to De Plesman, we can't wait to meet you!
- Creating and preparing a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods;
- Designing and presenting innovative dessert menus in collaboration with the Head Chef;
- Ensuring mise-en-place is ready for smooth and efficient service;
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety in the pastry kitchen;
- Managing inventory and sourcing the best ingredients for your creations;
- Training and mentoring junior staff within the pastry team.
What can you expect?
- A one-year contract with the intention of extension;
- Regular team activities, ranging from bike rides through The Hague to Thursday drinks;
- Opportunities for personal development;
- Discounts on hotel stays and F&B.

Functie eisen
What will you bring to the team?* You have 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role. You'll be on top of our list if you gained this experience at a 4/5-star hotel;
* Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays;
* You speak English fluently;
* You preferably live in the vicinity of The Hague.
