Operator | Automotive (ENG)

We are looking for Machine operators for Cummins Emission Solutions in Roermond. Cummins manufactures exhaust systems and catalytic converters for passenger cars and trucks. Customers include DAF and Scania. In the position of Machine operator, you will contribute to the production of exhaust systems/catalysts according to instructions.

An operator (machine operator) is responsible for monitoring and operating single machines. The operator operates the machine independently and is supported in other work by a succeeding operator or Gap Leader. In case of deviations or calamities in the production process, the Operator 1 and/or Gap Leader are called in.

What preparation is involved on a daily basis?

• Attend start-up meeting at start of shift at team board (Top 5);
• Receiving work instructions from the Gap Leader;
• Reading and studying work instructions.

What does the performance of this role look like?

• Under supervision, operates robotised/automated machines and monitors? of production process;
• Produces products according to prescribed standards and work instructions;
• In case of major breakdown, damage and/or machine failure, inform the Gap Leader;
• Work is performed according to 5S and quality, health & safety, environmental and safety requirements are met as described in the procedures.

Within this role, you will also perform checks, such as: 

• Constant visual inspection regarding the product, damages and the place of work according to the work instruction;
• Checking the produced products, using a caliper or control mold;
• Documenting the control findings in the production control forms provided;
• Reports product deviations to the Gap Leader, stops process and escalates to Gap Leader.
