Manufacturing Engineer - Assembly (m/f/d)

Duration of the assignment: max 2 years


Join a team of assembly engineers at one of Europe's most advanced manufacturing sites. As part of this team, you will contribute to producing millions of advanced products for Philips Royal.


You will be part of the Production Engineering team, a young, skilled, and highly motivated group that supports the Operations departments and drives continuous improvement within the Philips organization. This team values a strong willingness to learn and adopt new practices. The overall Production Engineering team comprises around 50 colleagues, with your focus being on the assembly department.


Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement in the Philips organization through problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Customer Focus: Prioritize customer needs, maintain positive and empowered employees, and continually improve workplace activities.
  • Manufacturing Process Development: Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, workflows, and equipment to help the Operations department meet its goals and satisfy customer needs.
  • Factory of the Future: Enhance processes and extend capabilities with innovative new processes.
  • New Product Introduction: Transfer new products to the factory for mass production by developing efficient manufacturing processes while considering all potential risks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Site Manufacturing Engineering team and other stakeholders to achieve goals.
  • Equipment Diagnostics: Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Documentation and Training: Oversee operator instructions, critical parameters, checklists, training materials, and training plans for all assembly operations.
  • Process Optimization: Recommend necessary processes, technical expertise, and tooling to optimize production runs.
  • Process Development: Lead process development of the assembly process through parameter optimization, DOE experiments, and trials to establish robust processes.
  • Innovation Implementation: Work with Site Manufacturing Engineering teams to define requirements and implement new innovations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Undertake continuous improvement projects at the department level.
  • Cross-Functional Representation: Represent Operations in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • New Product Integration: Introduce new products from Development to Operations and specify requirements from Operations.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering.
  • Learning Attitude: Eager to learn about current assembly processes and everything needed to run and improve production.
  • Practical Application: Ability to transform knowledge into practical actions.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong root cause analysis skills.
  • Team Leadership: Capable of leading a team and managing projects in multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in Dutch and English.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and improvement techniques is advantageous.
