Job Description

We have a vacancy for a Maintenance Technician - Calibration to work at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Leiden (the Netherlands). 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains and improves status of equipment and components key to the manufacture and measurement of medical and other devices. Performs calibration duties and provides support to manufacturing and lab facilities.

  • Performs scheduled routine and non-scheduled calibrations on production and facilities equipment.
  • Initialize and deal with OOS situations. QA will be informed through a Calibration Alert.
  • Document and review the work performed in accordance with the procedures of the Company and applicable regulations.
  • Suggests improvements to existing standard operating procedures for calibration methods and systems.
  • Develops increased knowledge of the manufacturing process and equipment operation to help to identify calibration needs.
  • Maintains the calibration status of all measuring and critical manufacturing equipment.

Besides that:

  • Establishing calibration and test methods for new and existing equipment.
  • Completes accurately all calibration test records.
  • Raises issues and reports on calibration failures.
  • Develops new standard operating procedures for calibration of new equipment.
  • Revises standard operating procedures as required. Ensures that calibration records are updated and stored such that they are easily retrieved.
  • Participate in projects, programs, committees and special activities that promote the company to establish its strategic goals.
  • Attend trainings and education programs applicable and immediately notify their supervisor if there are tasks and / or responsibilities which have not been properly trained.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Job requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in Industrial, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical Electronics or related field.
  • Strong technical skills (in pharmaceutical production equipment - preferably).
  • Demonstrate skills of root cause analysis.
  • Automation proficiency (depending on functional area)
  • Good knowledge in compliance with Occupational Safety, Environment and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) (nice to have)
  • Basic knowledge in aseptic techniques.
  • Excellent computer proficiency e.g. MS Office, SAP
  • Availability to work rotating shifts, overtime, on holidays, and weekends.
  • Excellent Dutch language skills

Terms of employment

We offer a challenging position which allows you to work in a dynamic and international environment, ensuring diversity in your work and creating plenty of opportunities for personal development. 

This concerns a secondment contract for 1 year via Yacht, extension is anticipated. Full-time (40h) is strongly preferred, working 32 or 36 hours per week can be discussed. Mostly daytime shifts (on-call duties).

We will offer a competitive benefit package in line with your seniority and the seniority of the position. Salary up to 5100 Euro gross per 4-week period.
