As the Lead Robotics Hardware Engineer, you will direct the hardware design of our mobile robot, the centerpiece of our robotic sorting project. By applying a systems engineering approach, you will ensure that mechanical, electrical, and software elements work cohesively—from conceptual development through detailed design. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, mechatronics specialists, and external partners to translate customer needs and product requirements into practical, high-quality robotics solutions.
THE JOB- Oversee the full lifecycle of the mobile robot’s hardware, from early-stage concepts to production.
- Partner with software teams, mechatronics engineers, and suppliers to achieve integration of all components.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather insights, ensuring technical requirements are clearly defined and well-implemented.
- Guide a talented, diverse group of engineers, coaching them on performance and development
- Define and coordinate work packages, ensuring milestones are met efficiently while collaborating with other teams.
- Contribute to the product management team and robotics roadmap.
- Oversee outsourced mechatronics projects to ensure technical standards, quality, and deadlines are consistently met.

- Education: Master’s in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in hardware design, systems integration, and bringing products into a production environment. Three to five years of working experience.
- Systems Engineering Competence: Able to operate at various levels of detail, from conceptual architecture to specific technical designs, while aligning with product and customer needs.
- Technical Breadth: Comfortable working at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering; hands-on experience with electronics is a plus.
- Agile Proficiency: Familiar with Agile methods and iterative work package management.
- Leadership & Communication: Skilled at mentoring engineers, defining project scopes, and driving collaboration across teams.
- Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Able to stay focused under uncertainty, propose creative solution and pivot when necessary.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
