Customer Insights & Connectivity
The Customer Insights & Connectivity cluster is responsible for delivering reliable, scalable solutions for customer insights. We offer a solutions range from statements & invoices, book keeping links and the accountlist that is being used within OneWeb.

You will be working in a DevOps squad on the delivery reliable Accountlist capabilities. This means working on cross-border solutions and preparing for providing services to ING worldwide. For these services you should also be available to run active standby shifts.

The platform is being built by using the latest standards, frameworks & technology that we use within ING. Our platform consists of (among others) JAVA RESTful API's, XFB flows, Kafka & TIBCO connectivity, OpenShift and Azure DevOps environment, combined with Prometheus, IAT, Splunk solutions for Operations.

Roles and responsibilities
First and foremost, you need to be a strong coder, have experience in leading teams, being a role model & show exemplary behavior and develop with reliability in mind. You have to be a true team player. You speak up, are transparent and not shy to stand up for your own opinions. You have an instinctive need to share knowledge and continuously improve yourself and the team.
Experience and thorough understanding of (test) automation are expected as well on continuous delivery, deployment tools and pipelines. We have moved towards pure DevOps profiles, so you are expected to refine, code, test and deploy your own work on our on-premise and cloud environments. An itch and self-motivation for solving technical and functional challenges. Great analytical skills and conceptual / architectural understanding, ability to quickly understand new technical concepts that are outside of your comfort zone. Strong interest and vision in recent trends in software development and technology in general.

We expect the ability to transfer knowledge back to the ING Bank by holding presentations, workshops, documentation and most important: setting new standards for the ways we do tech.
As a senior engineer you're also acting as one of the lead engineers. Being the "right" hand of the Chapter Lead, helping & mentoring the team reaching higher levels.

Key responsibilities
  • Continuously work on team improvements, expertise and growth by sharing knowledge
  • Ensure quality and ownership for work delivered via sprints, set and improve standards according to the agile way of working
  • Leading role in processes and decisions which are strategic for your applications , such as the architecture, technology selection, implementation strategies
  • Align with IT stakeholders, ING Infra departments and consumers
  • Support line management with tasks such as driving central initiatives & improving performance of the squad
  • Take end-responsible for keeping your IT environment up and running, healthy, secure, documented, and standardized where possible
  • Together with the Chapter Lead, you balance team development, delivery and timelines
