Are you passionate about working in a dynamic lab environment where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand? We are looking for a Lab Assistant (Amanuensis) with solid experience working in a lab. In this role, you will make sure that everything in the lab runs smoothly and safely. You will be part of a dynamic team and will work closely with lab supervisors, the maintenance team, and other lab staff. This position is located in Gorinchem.

who are you

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field like (bio)chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or microbiology, and bring extensive hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment. You already have experience with working in a laboratory setting and you have strong knowledge of lab equipment and key suppliers. You are fluent in English. If you’re passionate about contributing your expertise to an innovative and collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you!

You:

  • have an educational background at Bachelor degree in (bio)chemistry / Chemical Engineering or microbiology;
  • have extensive experience working in a laboratory;
  • have relevant experience working in a lab and good knowledge on equipment suppliers;
  • provide pragmatic solutions;
  • are fluency in English (oral and written).
what will you do

In this role, you’ll ensure the lab stays clean and safe. You will manage the stock of disposables and materials, ensuring they’re always available and properly stored. In addition, you keep the chemical storage system up to date. As the go-to person for minor lab adjustments and equipment issues, you’ll handle repairs and manage the equipment list.

You:

  • keep the lab tidy and clean;
  • keep the chemical storage system up to date;
  • are the first contact for small adaptations in the lab and for broken equipment / glassware;
  • manage gasses;
  • organise lab cleanings;
  • are responsible for the chemical bunker, freezers and refrigerators.
