As Junior Data Scientist you will be leveraging rich data sources into actionable products and services to advance day-to-day airport operations. Creating and implementing data-driven decision support tools that directly impact Schiphol's efficiency and passenger experience. How you achieve results in this? That’s up to you. - Developing and implementing advanced algorithms for gate planning and operational optimization.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and solve complex operational challenges.
- Creating and maintain data products that provide actionable insights for airport management.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of Schiphol's data-driven decision-making processes.
You'll be working on projects with immediate real-world impact, such as our gateplanning decision support system and our framework for quantifying operational value. These projects require a blend of data science expertise and domain knowledge, offering a unique opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. Your work will directly influence the efficiency and passenger experience at one of Europe's busiest airports.

- 1-3 years of experience as a data scientist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Python programming
- Experience with machine learning algorithms (e.g., Random Forests, Logistic Regression)
- Familiarity with the SciPy stack (Pandas, NumPy)
- Knowledge of Git and CI/CD processes
- Experience with Jupyter notebooks and MLflow
- Understanding of Linux and Bash scripting
- € 4401 to € 6128 gross per month (Schaal 11).
- A 13th month (year-end bonus).
- An NS Business Card that fully reimburses travel by public transportation to and from work.
- The possibility to work 4 x 9 hours in a 36-hour work week.
