Level: Master student in the field of Health economics/HTA
Ideal start date: September/october 2024
Availability: you are available for a minimum of 6 months and 32 hours per week.

The internship will focus on value assessment of treating patients with difficult to treat depression with Spravato vs other treatment modalities. Some activities in this assessment may be:

• Mapping possible patient journey for patients with depression
• Establishing the ideal treatment path based on the new guidelines for patients with difficult to tret depression.
• Getting familiar with the new declaration system for mental health care (Zorg Prestatie Model and asses optimal declaration practices.
• Comparing treatment costs of different treatments for this patient group within the ZPM (zorgprestatiemodel), the new declaration system for mental health care institutions.
• Establishing outcomes and use of healthcare resources for different patient journeys
• Assessing the opportunities for cost consequence modelling for Spravato vs other treatments

Spravato is a breakthrough medicine in the treatment of difficult to treat depression. Spravato is different in every aspect is different from the available treatment options. Based on it’s amazing results in patients with difficult to treat depression Spravato recently became part of the new guidelines from the Psychiatry association.

A key aspect in the go to market situation for Spravato is the fact that it’s the first drug in Psychiatry that is classified as an ‘ expensive treatment’. That means that there is a need for demonstrating the value in daily practice.
