About AMPC AMPC International Health Consultants is a small consultancy agency offering a wide range of services in the healthcare sector, supporting the design, construction, equipping and operations of hospitals and other types of healthcare facilities. Position: Technical Consultant Our Technical Consultants play a key role in our new-build and renovation projects of hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities. We work for international bi- and multilateral clients, but also for various private institutions. The projects range from designing hospitals to organising international tenders for construction and equipping of hospitals. We work on our projects in small multidisciplinary teams composed of clinicians, healthcare managers, architects and (biomedical) engineers and (hospital) project managers. As a Technical Consultant you have an important role in our multidisciplinary team: You plan equipment requirements for healthcare facilities – advising clients on scope, quantities and technical specifications of equipment; You assist in procurement processes: development and launch of international tenders (for construction and/or medical equipment), evaluation and contract award; You provide input for the investment budgets to present to our clients, for example, Bills of Quantity for medical and non-medical equipment; You work together with the) project manager and your consultancy colleagues on the realization of hospital projects – for example, providing advice about contract management, maintenance, layout and/or equipment installation. This is a challenging and varied position which would suit someone with an affinity for the technical aspects of healthcare infrastructure /equipment planning and procurement. There is plenty of scope of future development and progression; the exact direction of your development depends on your competence, areas of interest and ambition. Qualifications/Experience You have a completed either a Masters or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline; Having a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Technical Medicine, Clinical Technology, or similar is an advantage; You have followed an internship or gained work experience in a project-based environment; Experience within a healthcare facility is preferred – for example, as a Technical Procurement Officer or Biomedical Engineer. Skills A good verbal and written command of English essential, knowledge of French is an absolute advantage; You have highly developed computer literacy skills (MS Access, Excel and Word at a minimum); You are proactive and organised - you meet deadlines; You are flexible – your exact activities and deliverables will differ per project; You like to work independently, but you are also a team player. Position Details The position is based in our modern office in Weesp, 12km from Amsterdam, which is easily accessible by public transport, car or bicycle; Post-holder is not expected to travel overseas; We are supportive of remote working for up to a maximum of 40% of the working week.
