Strategy & Innovation is responsible for ABN AMRO's corporate strategy and innovation agenda and brings committed and engaged professionals together to work on the future of ABN AMRO. We are looking for a business consultant to contribute to our innovation growth goals for a period of 6 months (due to maternity leave).
Your job:
As a business consultant, you represent the viability area of innovation. The market potential of innovation initiatives needs to be assessed through the different stages of DARE, and the viability of the new business concepts needs to be validated. This all comes together and will be captured in the financial model, including the main drivers of the business model and the actual business case. In addition to assessing market potential, the business consultant also measures and evaluates the (financial) performance of the entire innovation portfolio through monthly reporting and gives advice accordingly.
Your tasks:
- Advice initiatives on building the business case and verifying the viability, while assessing the quality and sharing the main opportunities and risks.
- Facilitate knowledge sessions on market sizing through TAMSAMSOM and assessing the viability and quality of the result by the initiatives before it is being assessed by the assessors.
- Share the financial revenue forecast and give insights and advice during the portfolio meeting for the (extended) Management Team of Innovation and Head of S&I.
- Give insights and advice to stakeholders, by evaluating the performance of the portfolio and giving advice on which actions to take to improve the health of the portfolio and meeting our targets.
- Bring outside-in knowledge and best practice on (new) innovation and growth hacking metrics or developing new business models!
Working environment:
Strategy & Innovation consists of multiple teams: corporate strategy, corporate development, and innovation (Innovation Lab, Tech, and Process & Design). You will be working for innovation. The innovation department consists of enterprising innovators & business experts, developers & data scientists, and designers & innovation consultants from a wide variety of backgrounds and nationalities.
The business consultant works closely together with innovation initiatives who are searching for and building new viable business models for ABN AMRO. Your role is to advise, assist, and coach these initiatives with your knowledge of business models, business cases and underlying drivers. In addition to that, you collaborate with the MT of the Innovation Lab, Finance, and the Strategy & Innovation (extended) Leadership team.
You will be part of the Innovation Process & Design team that helps innovation teams generate and execute new ideas. From finding, evaluating, and nurturing new ideas to developing and introducing new business models, using our DARE innovation process, design- and innovation accounting expertise. The team ensures we work data-driven, human-centered, and per the DARE stages. By doing so, innovation teams meet stage criteria, iteratively learn, measure, and build their initiatives.
Functie-eisen
- More than 5 years of working experience, must in the financial or related sector. Working experience from venture capitalist, business accelerator, or incubator is a plus.
- Familiar with the context of working in a startup and/or early-stage innovation environment and/or revenue growth management.
- Ability to quickly understand business opportunities, business models/plans, and having knowledge of unit economics and pricing strategies.
- Strong coaching, stakeholder management, and consulting skills.
- Comfortable working in Excel.
- Experienced with creating and critically assessing business cases.
- Strategic view and vision on the future developments on financial/tech sector.
- Fits Strategy & Innovation culture (change-oriented, entrepreneurial, collaborative, learning).
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
- Preference is given to candidates with a salary expectation between €55,000 and €77,000 per year, including 8.33% holiday allowance, based on a 40-hour workweek
- The maximum hourly rate for freelancers is €94.75
