FunctieAs an Engineer Combat Systems at Damen Naval, you will support technical activities related design, installation, verification, maintenance and refits of Combat Systems for Naval vessels. You will get involved in above water and underwater sensor systems, weapon, command, and control systems. Your effort will result into an integration of systems into a naval combat suite for Damen Naval ships. As the Engineer Combat Systems at Damen Naval, your key responsibilities will include:
- Analyse and revise basic and detailed Combat Systems packages for existing and/or new products based on relevant information and specifications.
- Implement improvements for the basic and/or detailed Combat Systems packages and where needed inform, discuss with and advise team lead, technical lead, technical specialists and relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Understand the execution and synchronization of project activities related to all deliverables and obligations of the Subcontractor(s).
- Support the subcontractors & suppliers’ contribution to the project(s) during preparation and execution.
- Assist the technical subcontract manager Combat Systems in defining, establishing and validating (the testing of) functional and physical interfaces.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications.
- Support the Proposal Department and the engineering and production group by delivering quality engineering products.
- Participate during contractual milestones, tests and trials, such as FAT, HAT and SAT as accepting party.
- Assist the warranty authority on all warranty issues that have been identified.
- regularly visiting the vlissingen office
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in engineering and/or subcontract management related to complex (combat) systems, acquired in the shipbuilding or a related industry.
- Experience in communicating with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors’ staff and project managers in shipbuilding or a related industry.
- Understanding in a variety of engineering concepts (V-model) and practices.
- Experience with working in complex project environments.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Technical domain.
- Good command of the Dutch and English language (written and verbal)
- Willingness and flexibility to travel abroad to from time to time, when and as required to support project activities and objectives.
- Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.

- Salary: €3500 - €5500
