Electrical Interface (‘Support’) Engineer

The Electrical Engineering team is part of the "Distribution Systems Data Centers" department, which is responsible for realizing multidisciplinary projects at home and abroad.

The department consists of around 100 engineers. The department falls under the Smart Infrastructure division, one of the world's largest suppliers of products, systems, solutions and services for the sustainable, reliable and efficient transmission and distribution of energy.  

As Electrical Interface (‘Support’) Engineer, you will be involved in the engineering and realization of our challenging projects in the field of power distribution in the data centre industry. Together with the project team, you take care of the technical solution.

In this position, you will work for the Electrical Engineering team for data centres, consisting of around 20 engineers. Due to business growth, we are looking for an Electrical Interface Engineer who fits into this close-knit and driven team. 

The focus in this position is on the realization of projects. Under the responsibility of a Lead Engineer, you will ensure the right technical output together with the System Engineers within the project team.

The scope of the projects consists of the engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of power distribution systems such as medium- and low-voltage distributors, transformers, power distribution units, bus bar systems, digital protection, automation and monitoring systems and modular solutions such as E-Houses and Skids.

Tasks within the position include:

• Provide technical support to the (Lead) Engineers within the project;
• Solving residual points and closing these administratively;
• Participating in the realisation of detailed designs in the field of low- and medium-voltage distribution systems;
• Preparing work packages for installation and commissioning;
• Independently working out technical issues;
• Compiling Operations & Maintenance manuals;
• Reviewing technical (factory) documentation;
• Drafting technical specifications and RFQs;
• Delivery of technical documentation to the end customer;
• Managing and updating technical project documentation;
• Compiling technical training courses;
• Drawing up test and inspection plans.

What do you need to be considered for this position?

• Completed MBO degree in electrical engineering or similar with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with projects in the field of energy distribution;
• Affinity with checking and drafting technical documentation and manuals;
• Experience in creating technical reports and test plans;
• Creative, positive and able to communicate ideas;
• Accurate, critical, committed, practical and results-oriented;
• Communicatively strong and able to work well in a team;
• Flexible, stress-resistant and able to act within a hectic environment;
• Fluent in speaking and writing in English;
• Preferably also knowledge of the Dutch language
• Experience in the field of data centres is an advantage. 

Primary Employment Benefits

- A gross monthly salary of up to €3.951

- A 13th-month payment, prorated periodically

- 8.33% holiday allowance, calculated over 12 months' salary

You will be seconded through Yacht for a year, with the possibility of being considered for a permanent position at Siemens after this period.
