In March 2025, De Plesman will open its doors in Scheveningen, The Hague. This brand-new hotel and restaurant concept is located in an iconic building where dunes, forest, city, and beach come together. With 100 hotel rooms, a Lobby/bar, Restaurant Suus, and a deli, this destination is set to become a culinary and hospitality hotspot.

Independent Hospitality has been exclusively appointed to recruit the restaurant team, and we are currently looking for a Commis Chef to join this exciting venture.

As a Commis Chef, you will be an integral part of the kitchen brigade at Restaurant Suus. Working alongside a passionate team, you will support the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable dining experience.

As a Commis Chef you are responsible for:

  • Assisting in the preparation of mise-en-place for various dishes;
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety in the kitchen;
  • Supporting senior chefs during service to deliver consistent quality;
  • Continuously developing your culinary skills and learning from experienced colleagues.

What do you bring?

* You have 1 - 2 years of experience in a similar role. You'll be on top of our list if you gained this experience at a 4/5-star hotel;
* Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays;
* You speak English fluently;
* You preferably live in the vicinity of The Hague.
