The role

Do you have a passion for optimizing complex systems and working at the intersection of engineering and IT? Damen Naval is looking for a Business Analyst Engineering to provide vital support in managing and enhancing the engineering department’s business applications. This role is crucial to ensuring seamless collaboration between engineering and IT, enabling efficient support of Damen’s innovative naval projects. If you have a sharp analytical mind and the skills to drive impactful change, we want to meet you! As Business Analyst Engineering at Damen Naval, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with engineers, IT specialists, and other stakeholders to gather and document requirements, specifications, and processes.
  • Analyse data and engineering workflows to uncover trends and drive data-informed recommendations.
  • Identify inefficiencies in engineering processes, proposing improvements to boost productivity, and cut costs.
  • Evaluate the cost implications of engineering decisions, offering solutions that align with business goals.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Engineering and IT to ensure smooth interaction and alignment with project and business objectives.
  • Assist in implementing new systems, processes, or technologies, contributing to organizational change.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including project plans, business cases, and process flows, for an accessible and transparent archive.
  • Assess innovative technologies and tools that can elevate the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering operations.
  • Support knowledge transfer, continuous improvement, and process evaluation within the team.

Skills & experience
To excel as Business Analyst Engineering you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field and at least three years of professional experience.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools, project management processes, IT platforms, and software development.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools and ideally experience in naval or complex engineering projects.
  • Fluency in English and Dutch language skills are a plus.
  • Core Competencies: Customer focus, results-driven approach, quality orientation, teamwork, initiative, and critical thinking.
  • Excellent references antecedents as a pre-assignment security screening is part of the recruitment procedure.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible given the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
